Safe Unveils "Safe Recovery Hub" for Simplified Crypto Asset Recovery

Safe, a leader in smart wallet infrastructure, has joined forces with Sygnum Bank, a global digital asset banking group, and CoinCover, a UK-regulated recovery service provider, to launch the "Safe Recovery Hub." This groundbreaking initiative aims to solve the complex issue of crypto asset recovery by offering users a curated suite of secure and reliable options.

Addressing the Challenge of Key Management

Traditionally, managing crypto assets has been complicated by limited recovery options. The Safe Recovery Hub addresses this challenge by providing users with a wide range of self-custodial and social recovery methods. This allows individuals to tailor their recovery solution to their specific risk preferences, ensuring optimal security and accessibility.

User-Driven Recovery with Enhanced Security

Through the Safe Recovery Hub, users can designate trusted individuals, such as family members or friends, as "recoverers." Additionally, trusted third-party providers like Sygnum Bank and CoinCover can also be chosen for facilitated recovery. Importantly, users retain complete control over their assets and can grant or revoke access to recoverers at any time. This user-driven approach empowers individuals to manage their own financial sovereignty.

Addressing Lost Crypto Assets

The need for secure and reliable recovery solutions is evident. A recent report revealed that over 900,000 ETH (worth $1.92 billion) are inaccessible due to forgotten keys. Recognizing this growing concern, Thomas Eichenberger, Chief Product Officer at Sygnum Bank, emphasizes the importance of institutional-grade recovery options.

Availability and Future Plans

The Safe Recovery Hub is currently available to users of Safe wallets. Services provided by partner companies, such as Sygnum Bank and CoinCover, will be launched in the first half of 2024. This partnership marks a significant step forward in simplifying crypto asset recovery and empowering individuals to manage their digital assets securely and with confidence.
